Preparing for Open Enrollment

The 2027 window opens November 1 — let's get you ready ahead of it.

Premiums are shifting and a lot of the extra subsidy help people counted on has gone away, so letting your plan auto-renew without a second look could cost you more than it should. A short comparison now beats scrambling in December.

Who you'll actually talk to

Licensed Expert. Not a call center.

"Too many people I met were either overpaying for coverage that didn't fit, or going without because shopping for a plan alone felt impossible."

That's the reason Soto Health Solutions exists. I'm independent, which means I'm not tied to pushing one carrier's product — I compare real options across companies and explain them without the jargon.

There's never a fee to work with me — insurance isn't a one-size-fits-all, my job is to find you the right one. Self-employed people, families shopping for their own plan, folks between jobs: you deserve someone who actually answers the phone.

Start here

Which one sounds like you?

Pick a card and I'll set up your quote accordingly.

01

Self-employed or 1099

You handle your own paperwork already — might as well handle your own coverage the smart way.

02

Covering my family

Pick the doctors, pick the budget — coverage that answers to your household, not an employer handbook.

03

Coverage is ending

COBRA about to lapse, switching jobs, retiring early? Let's close the gap before it opens.

04

Running a small business

A handful of employees who deserve real benefits, without a corporate-size price tag.

What's actually different

Coverage that bends around your life.

01

Doctors you already know

Broad, PPO-style networks mean fewer "is my doctor even in-network" surprises down the road.

02

Enroll on your schedule

Plenty of private under-65 plans accept applications outside the annual open enrollment window.

03

A possible tax angle

Self-employed? Ask your accountant about deducting premiums — I'll flag where it's worth asking. Not tax advice.

04

One number, saved for years

I'm still picking up the phone long after your policy starts — not just through the sale.

How it works

Three steps, one person the whole way.

You won't get bounced between departments — I handle it start to finish.

1

Tell me what's going on

A quick call or the form above. I want to know your budget, your household, and which doctors matter to you.

2

I shop it across carriers

As a Licensed Health Advisor, I pull options from multiple companies and translate the fine print into plain language.

3

You enroll, I stick around

Once you're covered, I don't disappear. Billing question next spring? Same number, same person.

Before you choose a plan

Network types, in plain language

Four common network structures, four different trade-offs.

People who value picking their own specialists tend to lean PPO. If premium is the deciding factor, HMO plans usually win. There's no universally "right" answer — it depends on how you actually use care, which is what we'll cover on a call.

How Soto Health Solutions works

From your first question to your first day of coverage — clear steps, no surprises.

1

Tell me about your situation

A few questions about where you live, your age, household size, and income. Takes about 2 minutes and helps me narrow down what you actually qualify for.

2

I follow up personally

You'll hear back from me directly — by phone or email — not a call center. No script to read from, no pressure to buy. Just straightforward guidance from someone working on your behalf.

3

We compare real options side by side

I lay out plans from multiple carriers that fit your budget, walk through the tier differences, and help you land on something that actually covers your doctors and prescriptions.

4

You enroll, and I stay reachable

Once you've picked a plan, I handle the enrollment paperwork with you. I'm still around afterward for claims questions, billing issues, or a renewal check-in.

Common questions

Quick answers before you reach out

Can I get coverage if I'm self-employed? +
Yes — this is most of who I work with. Self-employed people, 1099 contractors, and freelancers buy their own coverage all the time. I'll compare private under-65 plans and match you with something that fits your budget.
My COBRA is running out — what now? +
Losing COBRA counts as a qualifying life event, so you don't have to wait for the next open enrollment window. I'll work quickly to line up a plan that closes the gap so you're never without coverage.
How is this different from healthcare.gov? +
The ACA marketplace is one option, not the only one. As a Licensed Health Advisor, I also compare private plans side-by-side with what's on the exchange — for many healthy individuals and families, private coverage can mean more flexibility at a lower cost.
Does this cost me anything? +
No. I'm compensated by the insurance carriers, not by you, so there's no fee for my help comparing plans or handling enrollment.
Do you sell Medicare plans? +
No — I focus specifically on private, under-65 health insurance. If you're approaching 65 or need a Medicare plan, that's outside what I do, but I'll gladly point you toward Medicare.gov or 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227).
What if my income qualifies me for Medicaid? +
I'm not able to assist with Medicaid enrollment directly, but Healthcare.gov can help you find your state's Medicaid program and apply for free — call 1-800-318-2596 (TTY: 1-855-889-4325) for free assistance.
Can you cover my employees too? +
Yes. I work with small-business owners on group and owner coverage options that give a small team real benefits without enterprise-level cost or complexity.
What states can you help in? +
I'm licensed in 31 states, so I can help clients across much of the country. Tell me where you live and I'll confirm what's available there.
Can I sign up outside open enrollment? +
In many cases, yes. Private under-65 plans are often available to apply for year-round, and a life event such as losing other coverage can open up a special enrollment window just for you.
Is my information kept private? +
Yes. Your information is transmitted securely and only used to match you with coverage. I never sell it.

Access to all your options

Coverage categories, for every situation

Whether you're self-employed, between jobs, starting a family, or looking outside the marketplace — there's a path here for you.

🏥

ACA Marketplace plans

Bronze, Silver, and Gold plans sold through healthcare.gov. If your income qualifies, you may receive significant subsidies — sometimes down to $0/mo.

🔒

Private / off-exchange plans

Purchased directly from carriers. More flexibility in benefits and networks — ideal for those who don't qualify for ACA subsidies.

💼

Short-term health plans

Temporary coverage for gaps between jobs or life events. Lower premiums, more limited coverage — I'll explain the tradeoffs clearly.

👪

Family plans

Cover your entire household under one policy. I compare family premiums across carriers to find the best value for your household size and ages.

🌎

Term life, dental & vision

Add-on plans for dental, vision, or term life coverage that fill the gaps your primary plan doesn't cover.

📋

Not sure what you need?

That's exactly what I'm here for. Tell me your situation and I'll map out all your options — with zero obligation to enroll.

What I stand for

🤝

Independence

I'm not owned by or affiliated with any insurance company. My only job is to find you the best coverage for your money — period.

Honest guidance

I explain every plan in plain English — deductibles, networks, out-of-pocket maximums, and all the details that actually matter when you need care.

🔍

Thoroughness

I search public marketplace plans and private options to make sure you see everything available — not just the easiest sale.

📞

Year-round support

Enrollment is just the beginning. I'm available year-round to help with billing questions, claims issues, or switching plans at renewal.

🎓

Licensed and compliant

Licensed to operate in the states I serve, in full compliance with state and federal insurance regulations.

💰

Always free to you

My brokerage service costs you nothing. You'll never pay more for a plan through me than buying it directly — and often, you'll pay less.
